Exaggerated Rally Comic

A friend of mine ran his first stage rally this year, (Idaho Rally) and rolled on Stage 2, what a chump, huh? (Just kidding, Jeff. :) ) Anyway, anytime I'd throw out a line on facebook for ideas, he'd never relent on his crash/roll, and finally I got so sick of hearing that same suggestion, I just caved. But caved with a vengeance!
The reason it's titled, 'R4 Over Crest' is that is what the stage notes read where he went off. It should have read: 'R4 Over Crest Caution Off-Camber.' But anyway, we all have our crash excuses.
Also, rally cars do not have jets or ejection seats, nor do they create an atomic explosion upon crashing. That would make the sport way too amazing for people to even wrap their minds around and the universe would collapse on itself.

Steampunked Apache

A friend of mine requested I make an interpretation of the AH-64 Apache helicopter, but something of my own. You know, art-ify it. Since I've been on a steampunk craze lately, I tried it in that way. So here it is, the Assault Helo-AirShip-64 gunship.

Matilda

Hello, internet perusers, how are you? I am quite awake right now, but that's because I just got up. When I drew this lady below, I was quite spent. Yep, that's all I could manage in 15 minutes, sadly. I've been trying to make a cool Steampunk-esque duo involving my charecter, Baron Redding, but it just wasn't really clicking last night. Although I like what I came up with, I just wish I'd had more time to expand. I guess it's not like the files aren't in my computer. (Ohhh, the files are IN the computer!) Anyway, enjoy.

All up to date finally!

The topics of these weeks vary. Some of them were suggested by friends, some were just things I wanted to draw. But I was getting burned out on the whole-week-topics thing, so I needed a change...which pretty much meant I slowly drifted back to doing my own thing.

Frame 81

Frame 82
The Drift Angle
*In this one, I had been trying for a long time to really give an idea of the intensity of rally from an in-car perspective, to no avail. But I think I got it with this one. It's one of these drawings I'd really like to expand on and give more detail to.

Frame 83
Pulp Fire
*Pulp art is something I really enjoy, but have never purposefully tried to make it myself. This is my first actual attempt at it.

Frame 84

Frame 85
A Sad Alien
*Ever wonder why aliens the fictional aliens we typically create are generally shaped like humans? Is it so we are able to relate to them easier? Or just the general absurdity of it all?

Fifteen Minute Frames: The Week of "If the Other Guys Won"

This weeks drawings were fun, because it pushed me to consider the events that would have transpired if the other guys (mostly the bad guys, one depending on the side of the pond you were on, but there's a good in there as well.) It was a fun weeks drawings. They G.W.  one is one of my all-time favorites, although I'm certainly glad it wasn't the case! So without further adieu, the drawings:

Fifteen Minute Frames: The Week of Rally Cars

My posts from this week were suggested by a friend; the era's of Rally. For those unfamiliar, rally is the best motorsport in the world, there's nothing like it. It takes place on real roads, typically low maintenance, narrow mountain or forest roads, that are closed to the public for the duration of the event. The cars go out at intervals and are racing the clock. The driver and codriver must complete the stage as fast as possible. The team having the lowest overall time at the end of the event is the winner. I could go on and on and on about this, but it's better if you just look it up on youtube. Anyway, here's my drawings for the week. Most of them didn't turn out as great as I'd hoped, as I was super excited to draw them. They provided much more challenge than I expected.
